Safe Blogging Tips

Anonymity - Don’t post information that can help strangers locate you, including your last name, address, phone numbers, sports teams, where you live, and where you hang out.

Information Protection - Determine whether your service has a “friends” list that allows you to decide who can access your profile or blog. Allow only people you know and trust to visit and post in your blog.

Don’t Meet in Person - Never get together with someone you meet in a profile or blog. Talk it over with an adult who you trust.

Think Before You Post
- Whatever you post on the internet can be downloaded by anybody, and passed around and re-posted online boy others. Don’t post photos that allow people to identify you, especially sexually suggestive images.

Check Comments Often - Don’t respond to mean or embarrassing comments.

Be Honest about Your Age - Membership rules are there to protect you. Don’t lie about your age if you are too young to sign up.

Bullying - Avoid picking on other people; and, if you ever feel bullied, threatened, or harassed yourself, talk to an adult who you trust immediately.
